I recovered this U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service section corner from 1948 in good condition. It is one of many section corners that border the Lower Klamath National Wildlife Refuge property. This particular section corner is in Section 16, Township 47 North, Range 2 East. It also has a designation stamping of 'MC2' and '16' stamped on the top of the cap. The section corner is easily recovered with a yellow carsonite witness post as well as a larger wooden post near the marker. The section corner is located behind a wooden fence line.

To reach this section corner, take Dorris Brownell Rd from the City of Dorris and continue E/SE about 11.5 miles. Dorris Brownell Rd becomes Lower Klamath Lake Rd heading south at a junction. This section corner is a short distance east from the junction. The last half mile is on a very chalky road and not advisable to drive on in inclimate weather.
