This Federal Courthouse is a new eight-story, 252,420-square-foot building of stone and glass bounded by Fourth, Fifth, San Antonio and Nueces streets. The new facility features eight courtrooms and chambers for 10 judges.

This new Courthouse replaces the federal courthouse on West Eighth Street. It faces Republic Square Park on the east side. The City of Austin and General Services Administration worked together on the integration and potential redevelopment of Republic Square Park as part of this new courthouse project.
