Located here just off a forest road is known as Conklin Spring, a natural spring that flows up from the ground into a concrete reservoir. A nearby wooden sign that was uprooted from the ground and sitting against a tree mentions the spring and that it is for cattle and game and no camping is allowed within 300 feet of the sign.

The former Conklin Mill site is located just about 200 feet SW of the spring and another wooden sign mentions the mill site that operated here from 1901 to 1938 and founded by William E. Conklin. The only remnants of this former mill are some twisted iron columns, concrete and stone foundations and pieces of wood lying around the site.
