In York, on Princess Street, is the York Agricultural and Industrial Museum, which has this statue for the workers of York in an open area of the museum.

York is famous for many companies that either started here or came here and grew. They include Cadbury - the (former) makers of York Peppermint Patties (candy), Harley-Davidson (motorcycles), York Air (air conditioners), York Barbell, York Safe & Lock, Caterpillar, and more. Many of these are now either gone or seriously reduced in size in York. This museum recounts the history of the industry and agriculture of York County. It is well worth a visit.

The museum is located on the west side of the city, on the north side of the road and east of a creek. The statue is located in an atrium like space on the way to the entrance to the museum.

The statue is made of bronze on a granite base. It stands 11 ft tall, with 2,000 lbs of bronze on 8 tons of black granite.

There are four figures together looking generally up to an eagle taking flight. Several hand tools are on the ground. The figures, three men and one woman, are in heavy, loose clothing that would be fitting in a manufacturing facility.

The sculptor was Lorran Jacobs of Dallastown, PA, in 1999. The caster was Laran Bronze, of Chester, PA.

The statue started with someone walking through the museum and noticed that there was not one thing about the people who worked in the factories. Donations were gathered including from the Commonwealth of Pennyslvania.
