Arsenal station is in two parts. The mainline station for suburban, Southeastern trains. The other part is for the Docklands Light Railway (DLR). Each part has its own entrance but they interconnect below street level.

Mainline trains pass through Woolwich Arsenal station on their way from central London to the north Kent Coast. Stations that Woolwich Arsenal connect to, in London, are Charing Cross, London Bridge, Blackfriars and Cannon Street.In Kent the trains go to Dartford, Gravesend and beyond.

The Woolwich Arsenal DLR station is a terminal on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) to the south of the Canning Town intersection.
