When travelling south from downtown Whitefish, Montana on Highway 93, watch for bears and eagles. If you should see a bear or an eagle, it might point you to these eagles.

This is one of three wooden eagles at the Chalet Motel, on the west side of the road at 6430 Highway 93 South in Whitefish. These two guard the office, perched on hand carved benches by the entrance, while the other is in the courtyard in the front of the motel.
These are much smaller than the large eagle in the front of the motel, each being three feet tall at the most, while the entire carving, including the tree upon which they perch, is about six feet in height. Again very well done, these eagles are very well detailed by an expert and fastidious artist. Again, we assume them to be carved from sections of pine trees.
