This is the bridge that one must traverse if they should choose to visit Noxon, as it's on the opposite side of the Clark Fork River from Highway 200, the major artery in the vicinity.

The bridge was built in 1922 and reconditioned in 1998, but still is considered deficient in many aspects, according to the Montana DOT. Seemed OK to us, though. This Warren through truss bridge is 600 feet in length, with each of three spans being 198 feet in length. It's 17.4 feet between curbs, pretty narrow for a two lane bridge these days.

What this bridge has going for it is this: it's a beautiful bridge in its setting on the calm water with the mountains in the background. It would be a shame to replace this bridge with a characterless steel and concrete girder bridge. That will happen one day, though. Present estimates are that it will cost $9,300,000 to do so.

The best view of the bridge is from Pilgrim Creek Park in Noxon.
