TURKEY POINT RM 3 is 388.858095 feet WNW (284.465672°) of the intersected center of the lighthouse (JV4849). It is at the S edge of the treeline & surrounded by small brush.

The lighthouse is located beyond the S end of MD State Route 272. From the parking area, pack southward along gravel trail approx. 0.7 mi to the lighthouse on the left - at the highpoint of a bluff overlooking the confluence of Elk River & Chesapeake Bay.

REFERENCE MARK THREE IS A STANDARD DISK STAMPED TURKEY POINT 1933 1845 NO 3 SET IN THE TOP OF A 12-INCH SQUARE CONCRETE MONUMENT WHICH PROJECTS 3 INCHES. IT IS 247.5 FEET WEST OF THE WITNESS POST AND 75 YARDS NORTHEAST OF THE BLUFF.

REFERENCE MARK 3, A STANDARD DISK STAMPED TURKEY POINT NO 3 1845 1933, IS SET IN TOP OF A 12-INCH CONCRETE CYLINDER PROJECTING ABOUT 2 INCHES ABOVE THE SURFACE OF THE GROUND. IT IS 250.6 FEET SOUTHEAST OF A STANDARD METAL WITNESS POST AND MARKER, 21.0 FEET NORTH OF A 6-INCH WILD CHERRY TREE, 2.0 FEET SOUTH OF AN EAST AND WEST FENCELINE AND IS ABOUT 7.0 FEET LOWER THAN THE STATION.
