The garden is 7 hectares in size, of which 1100 square metres is taken up by a man-made lake. It features a stylised mountain, hill, waterfall, beach, brook, and a Zen garden for meditation. It is open daily from 9am to sunset.
It was designed at the request of H.S.H. Prince Rainier III, by Yasuo Beppu, the winner of the Flower Exhibition of Osaka 1990, as a miniature representation of Shintoist philosophy.
The vegetation is composed by several species of various origins such as the Mediterranean, South America, Australia, Africa and Asia.
