The monument has two sides, which are virtually identical, with a pedestal perched atop a stone, and floral decoration at the top. On the front is the family name, "Barclay", and a sheath of wheat is in the center, with the following inscription:

Died Sept. 13, 1899.
Resting 'till the Resurrection
Morn.
On the reverse is a funeral wreath, made of flowers.
