The Seventh Day Adventist Church was built in Strickland Street in 1896 by the Millars Brothers and was used as the Town Hall. During the 1950's the Town Hall was relocated to it's present position, during the reconstruction of the hall alterations were made by community members who banded together to build the Seventh Day Adventist Church. On 12th December 1953 the new church was opened with a dedication ceremony.
