This monument, located on Oklahoma Route 3, has three large markers and an arrangement of flags.

There are three large markers here. The center marker honors all Purple Heart recipients. The marker on the left honors all paratroopers and those who wore the silver wings of the airborne troops. The marker on the right honors all infantrymen.

The flags on display are a large United States flag in the center, an Army flag on the left and a POW/MIA flag on the right.

Middle marker: Dedicated to the recipients of the nation's oldest military decoration "THE PURPLE HEART" Combat Wounded Veterans Wesley W. Sherrard Chief Warrant Officer U. S. Army, retired Korea 1950, 1951, 1958, 1959 Vietnam 1967, 1968, 1970, 1971 Marker on left: Dedicated to all paratroopers who wore or now wear the silver wings of the airborne. In memory and to honor those troopers who served in the 187th airborne regimental combat team (Arkansan) and to the Rangers who served in the 2nd and 4th Ranger battalions (airborne) who filled the depleted ranks of the Arkansans. 1 August 1950 1 July 1956 Combat jumps Suckchon, Korea 20 October 1950 Sunchon Korea 20 October 1950 Munsan Ni Korea 23 March 1951 "Till we form again!" Marker on right: Infantry "The Queen of Battle" Dedicated to the infantrymen who have worn or now wear the Combat Infantryman's badge, for he is the grunt who is charged with the mission to engage and destroy the enemy. This monument is further dedicated to the troopers killed in action (KIA) and missing in action (MIA) and those taken prisoner of war (POW). You will always be in our thoughts. To the troopers who have since departed from their comrades who served the colors with them. God rest their souls. Sleep in peace. Freedom is not free.

Description of Memorial:
I saw this memorial while driving down Oklahoma Route 3. It was so striking that I had to stop and read the inscriptions. It looks like Mr. Sherrard put up the monument to honor his comrades and fellow soldiers.
