This bridge is an integral part of the
Whitefish Bike and Pedestrian Trail, a recreational trail which runs through much of central Whitefish. The bridge is of the Pratt Truss type and arched to a degree, the structural part being constructed of welded square steel tubing. It has wood decking and is graced with stone end posts at either end and massive wooden handrails.
At the north end of the bridge is a duck pond with a steel heron standing in it, while just to the east is River Trail Park, a pastoral little riverside park which has benches, picnic tables, three tennis courts and the trail running through it.
