Located along County Rd 71 is the former one-room schoolhouse known as Delmorma School. It contains a bell tower on top of the roof that invokes the traditional 'one-room schoolhouse with a bell tower theme'. I only knew about this school from seeing it listed on a topography map. It is located within the California Pines Community which was built in the late 1960s as a potential hotspot for hunters and fishermen to the area who might want to build a second home here. The community project really never took off but currently includes the California Pines Lodge resort and a number of homes scattered throughout the properties with include thousands of acres of land. There is also an airport and a reservoir lake that was supposed to help bring people to the area.

I'm assuming this small schoolhouse was erected as an alternative educational facility for residents' families who had children that did not want to attend schools in Alturas, about 10 minutes away. The school is now closed and looks to be used as a meeting place for whatever community agendas are on the table.
