The original brick War Memorial was the central wall with the clock. It was designed and built with an Art Deco influence. It was dedicated to those Denamrk residents who died in World War I . The walls on either side of the clock were added at a later date with one dedicated to those from WW1 and the other WW2, the memorial now includes all subsequent conflicts.
The original inscription above and below the clock reads :-
IN GRATEFUL MEMORY OF THOSE
WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES
