Near Point of Rocks, spanning the Potomac River, is this truss bridge that carries U.S. 15 between Maryland and Virgina.
The truss bridge, built i 1937, is near a landmark feature called Point of Rocks. It is one side of a gorge that the Potomac River has eroded through. The bridge runs to the southeast of this gorge. Not only does it span the Potomac River, but also the remnants of the C&O Canal and the CSX Railroad, which has a tunnel through the mountain right there. The eight truss sections are camel-back trusses type and carries two lanes. The length was estimated via aerial/satellite imagery.
