The Grand Winterberg is located approximately four kilometers northwest of Niederbronn-les-Bains. The mountain range separates the valleys of Falkenstein River and the Black Bach. At its summit, is a 25 m high observation tower made of sandstone. It offers hikers an excellent panoramic view of the Northern Vosges, the Palatinate Forest and the Upper Rhine valley across to the Black Forest offers. In very good visibility are with Mönch and Altels two Swiss Alpine peaks visible.
