The Infinity Ring is a sculpture by Charles Sherman. It was donated to the Fountain Hills Fountain Park which surrounds the fountain.
The ring is ceramic of a green patina-ed color and sits on a concrete base which is rust colored.
The continuum of planes that create Charles’ Infinity Ring sculptures are inspired by the Moebius Strip, first
formulated by the 19th century German mathematician and astronomer, A. F. Moebius. The rings have no beginning
and no end. The bottom side becomes the top side and the inside becomes the outside. Touch any place on a ring
with your finger and trace the circular form; you’ll complete the circle and end up where you first started.
The sculpture was donated to Fountain Park by Dwight, Lauren and Lucas Johnson in memory of Verne C. Johnson.
