The Ohrmann Museum is a fascinating place to visit. The yard is filled with Bill Ohrmann's creations. This is a free museum and you are welcome to view, photograph and even sit on the Turtle.
Dodo Bird was created by talented artist Bill Ohrmann in 2006. It is made of welded steel. Dodo Bird left behind an egg, will this repopulate the now extinct Dodo Bird?
The Dodo bird or Raphus Cucullatus was a flightless bird native to the island of Mauritius, near the island of Madagascar in the Indian Ocean. The closest relatives to the dodo bird are pigeons and doves, even though dodo birds were much larger in size. On average, dodo birds stood 3 feet tall and weighed about 40 lb. Unfortunately, due to aggressive human population, dodo birds became extinct in late 17th century.
According to Mrs. Ohrmann, Bill was a rancher and artist all of his life. Though he has produced some amazing sculptures, he now limits his creativity to painting that he sells in the gallery.
As a note: all of the sculptures that are on display are "Not for Sale" and placed there purely for the enjoyment and appreciation of Mr. Ohrmann's talents.
