"The central theme of my work is celebrating the gift of life and my sculptures are successful if they heighten the viewer’s awareness of how precious is that gift. Most of my works in the last few years has been commissioned. I enjoy the challenge of combining the client’s vision and needs with my own ideas to create lasting depictions of significant people in their lives. With each new piece my first concern is that it is aesthetically pleasing, and can stand on its own artistic merit.
Although I am open to considering many concepts involving the human figure, I am particularly drawn to capturing subjects in motion. Movement, after all, is what captures our attention." (from (
