At the intersection with Hood Avenue in Sisters, turn onto Elm Street, which becomes FR16 in 0.4 miles. From the intersection, continue generally S for 5.1 miles. Turn left on FR1608-600 and continue generally SE for about 0.7 miles to the corner on the right.
Type of survey mark: 2-1/2" brass cap on galvanized iron pipe in a mound of stones; rising 6"

What indicators are near the mark to help people identify where it is located?:
The corner is located on the edge of a power line easement about 130' S from the centerline of FR1608-600. Found a western juniper and a ponderosa pine each with a scribed, partly-healed blaze, a yellow BEARING TREE tag and an ATTENTION sign on the backside. In addition to wooden lath lying about, there are PROPERTY BOUNDARY and LAND SURVEY MONUMENT signs mounted on a U-post.


What property is this mark defining?:
Land to the S is private property, else Deschutes National Forest. The corner is on the Third Standard Parallel South. See also Oregon Corner Restoration Record, Index File No. 0302, filed in the Deschutes County Surveyors Office.
