Stunning Leadenhall Market, a covered market located in the London district of the City, is not only one of by tourists beloved London's landmarks but also one of the most beautiful pieces of this type of commercial architecture worlwide.
Although the market dates back to the 14th century, it was not until 1881 that its current building was constructed. It was designed by leadineg Eglish architect, author of Tower Bridge, Sir Horace Jones in the mix of Victorian and early Art Nouveau style. It is decorated with plant-like motifs painted in green, maroon and cream colours. It has cobbled floors and a roof covered in crystals. Leadenhall Market has become a popular tourist attraction thanks to the unique structure of the building as well as the variety of shops housed there. There is a parking lot attached to the market. The main entrance to the market, made of narrow gabled red brick and Portland stone blocks in the 17th century Dutch style, is on Gracechurch Street.
