St Paul's Lutheran Church can trace its roots back to the 1830's and the influx of German and French immigrants to the area. Records indicate the formation of the first congregations about that time.
The first church was built about 1836.
With the establishment of the Missouri Synod in 1847, the congregation lists its official start-up as 1849, with the calling of its first Pastor at that time.
A new church and parsonage was constructed in 1879. All services were conducted in German until approximately 1915, when English was introduced. The last German service was conducted in 1940.
The present church had its cornerstone laid in 1930. The new church was dedicated in 1931.
