In Gettysburg, there is Mark Nesbit's Ghosts of Gettysburg tours.

The headquarters is located at the corner of Baltimore Street and Breckenridge Street, on the northwest corner of the intersection. It is a house-shaped structure. The main office is in the front, while the waiting area for the tours is toward the back.

Mark Nesbit has been collecting stories about ghosts and supernatural happenings for many years. He has been writing books from the stories that he has heard. In 1994, he began tours around Gettysburg. Today, several tour guides give tours all dressed in some kind of period clothing.

Of course, Gettysburg has many possible explanations for hauntings. First, of course, was the Battle of Gettysburg, which was fought in and around the borough. It is also a fairly old municipality in existence since the 1700s. Also, it is the county seat for Adams County. So, there appears to be plenty to talk about.

We took one of the tours and liked it very much. The guide was a good teller of stories and told both the established stories as well a few personal experiences. I won't tell the route and stories exactly, but it did involve public and private buildings.

Tours start about 8:00 pm and last about an hour and fifteen minutes. There are several tours and the fees depend on the tours (generally about $10 in 2014). Some are walking tours, and there is also a bus tour.
