Compass Roses - due to its historical background - are very popular in Portugal. Most of them are made of "Calçada Portuguesa", which means "Portuguese Cobblestone", an ancient art of make decorative designs in cobblestone pavements. Such is the case with this compass rose, which is actually the pavement of a small amphitheater in a publick park of Pinhal Novo.
