EN: The Ehinger estate is located on the main road in the north-west of Augst; until the 19th century it was still outside the settlement zone, but has since grown together with the village.
The estate was built in 1721 by Mrs. Salome Gessler, and consisted first of two parallel buildings and walls that surrounded a square yard. The next owner let enlarge the dwelling house and build a garden after 1764. An extension of the economic building in the 19th century restored the original balance.
In 1908 the Elektrizitätswerk Basel bought the estate and added an east wing to the dwelling house. In 1956, the property was extensively renovated.
DE: Das Ehinger'sche Landgut liegt an der Hauptstrasse in Nordwesten von Augst; bis im 19. Jahrhundert lag es noch ausserhalb der Siedlungszone, ist seither aber mit dem Dorf verwachsen.
Das Gut wurde 1721 von Frau Salome Gessler erbaut, und bestand zuerst aus zwei parallelen Gebäuden und Mauern, die einen Hof umschlossen. Der nächste Besitzer liess nach 1764 das Wohnhaus vergrössern und eine Gartenanlage errichten. Eine Vergrösserung des Wirtschaftsgebäude im 19. Jahrhundert stellte das ursprüngliche Gleichgewicht wieder her.
1908 kaufte das Elektrizitätswerk Basel das Gut und liess dem Wohnhaus einen Ostflügel anbauen. 1956 wurde das Gut umfassend renoviert.
