Po vymrení Martinicu získal palác rod Clam-Martinicu a patril jim až do roku 1837. V tom roce koupil palác armáda a zrídil tu delostreleckou nemocnici. Vojáci využívají budovu dodnes – sídlí zde Hradní stráž.
