"Natural Wonders features a young boy looking forward into his future, he’s sitting on the turtle which represents the world and he is noticing the many fantastic creatures around him. He’s thinking about the birds and bees soaring in the air, how creatures walk the ground and he follows the swirling fish swimming playfully in the water. He realizes that he may not always see deer, opossum, toads, blue herons or others but he knows that they are there from tracks left in mud at the water edge. He holds a cicada over his heart to help him remember the passage of time as they only come out every 15 years. He wonders how his family and his friends can be a part of keeping them alive to see and enjoy another fine day. This story encourages everyone to open our eyes and dream of a world where we become aware of our surroundings through caring for our natural environment.

My approach to figurative sculpture uses visual storytelling to comment on the richness in our lives through a story of the connections we all share with nature. My work attempts to engage the viewer in this narrative. Appealing to the hopeful inner spirit within us, fostering conversations and nurturing recognition for how an interdependent relationship with nature, under our wise stewardship can sustain all life in a harmonious manner, creating a compassionate world.

Michele’s art making has been a life long pursuit. She earned a Bachelors of Arts in Painting and Sculpture from Western Illinois University, immersed herself in sculptural woodworking at Virginia Commonwealth University and developed mastery of her mediums studying sculptural wood forms and figurative sculpting for bronze at the UW-Madison. She established Millennium Studios in Wisconsin, where she combines unique artistic vision and technical mastery with passion for figurative bronze, creating contemporary narrative emotionally expressive sculptures. Michele has received awards and is included in numerous private and public collections. Installations of “Natural Wonders” include the City of St. Charles, IL., City of Irving Texas-West Library Childrens Area and recently the City of Loveland, Colorado Sculpture in the Park. She enjoys creating community oriented public artworks." (from (visit link) )
