The coordinates will bring you to the geocache GC41/GCBBA, located near the Highway 103 (Fishermen's Memorial Highway), community of East River, Nova Scotia.
Since this geocache -an ammo box- is the first canadian geocache, it is the OLDEST geocache in Canada. It was hidden on June 24th, 2000, by Kenneth J. Kane aka Ken Kane aka eastriver, a retired Navy officer from Nova Scotia.
Six year after the placement of this this cache, a memorial was unveiled celebrating the placement. It can be found near the administration building of the Graves Island Provincial Park, located some 7 kilometers (4.35 miles) from the cache. This memorial -a geostone- was built and designed by Wallace_River. The sale of "Canada's First Geocache" geocoin paid for the geostone and unveiling event.
East River is a community in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, located in the Chester Municipal District on the Aspotogan Peninsula on the Lighthouse Route at the junction of Nova Scotia Route 329 and Trunk 3.
