Návrh znaku i praporu obce provedl zlínský heraldik Miroslav J. V. Pavlu v roce 2000. Návrh zduvodnil následovne: "Autor návrhu znaku a praporu Nemochovic vycházel z mladších sfragistických dokladu (motivy radlice a krojidla jsou totiž príliš bežnými atributy vesnických pecetí na to, aby se daly využít), což prezentoval prevzetím atributu sv. Floriána vedrem s tekoucí vodou (symboliku ješte zvýraznuje užití cerveno - modre polceného štítu). Kompozice byla doplnena motivy lilie (erbovní znamení významného moravského rytírského rodu Zástrizlu) a zlato - cervene deleného orlího krídla z prilby puvodního erbu Lichtenštejnu, majitelu osady v letech 1633 - 1848.
