Sete Cidades, main crater of this extinct volcano, is about 1,900 feet above sea level. From the edge of this crater. eight miles in circumference, there is a magnificent view the two lakes at the bottom. One is blue, reflecting the sky, and the other bright green due to the beautiful setting of the crater walls which are rich in vegetation.
