Titisee is both, the name of the lake as well as the town. It is one of the major tourist destinations in the southern Black Forest. The lake was created by the Feldberg Glacier in the Pleistocene and has today a surface area of about 1.3 square kilometers. The lake is located at a height of about 845 meters above see level.
