Once common alongside Route 66, a Neon sign on a hotel that is open for business, alas the sign has lost its Neon tubes. The baggy pants Cowboy sign & motel has been standing for decades, & still open, in Amarillo, Texas.

The Cowboy Motel is still open for business, according to the Amarillo Chamber of trade.
The Cowboy must be wearing parachute pants, the more you look the bigger they seem to get. The Googie stars I am sure are from the 50's
A great vintage sign, but unfortunately not a Neon tube remaining. I am sure, as more & more people travel Route 66, they will give the sign some TLC, and one day it will be glowing brightly again. I would have stayed in that hotel if they had a working Neon Sign.

"The Texas Cowboy is a theme that runs through this Panhandle city. What an incitement for a the kids when they saw this vintage Route 66 sign.
"Mom, Dad, can we stay there?"
An old shopping center next to the Cowboy Motel on Route 66 now stands deserted. There was a time that the traveler could just about find anything he or she wanted along this stretch of old Route 66." text Source: (
