This popular sculpture in Tokoroa bears the sign of Rotary International. Planning and construction of the Pine Man was a project undertaken by the Rotary Club of Tokoroa with support from a large number of local residents and businesses.

On 17th March 2004 the Rotary Club of Tokoroa presented the carving to the people of South Waikato in a public ceremony.

Today, the Pine Man is a symbol of Tokoroa, standing proudly by the main highway through the town.
