This is the Sword Beach Naval Memorial, also called the British 23rd Destroyer Flotilla Memorial, and it is located along the boulevard of Hermaville-sur-Mer, Basse-Normandie, France.

BACKGROUND:
Hermanville-Sur-Mer is a town on Sword beach which was involved in the World War II mission called "Operation Overlord" (or "D-Day Invasion" of 6 June, 1944, a pivotal engagement that helped turn the tide of the war.
Unfortunately, the HMS Swift (G46) which was an S class destroyer, was sunk by a mine off the Normandy beaches on 24 June 1944.
