Unless you venture off the highway and walk along one of the riverside tracks you probably wouldn't notice this display of local youth talent, colourful graffiti art on the concrete pillars under the SH1.road bridge. It gets submerged every time there is a big flood with the river rising almost to road level, but usually it is visible to pedestrians. It cannot be seen from passing vehicles. The best viewing place is on the northern left side of the bridge where a path goes down to the river beneath the bridge. From there the graffiti art is clearly seen, a surprisingly colourful display of talent. This work probably changes on a regular basis as old works are painted over by new artists leaving their expressions of art.
