The CND Peace Sign is used at the center of this monument.
More common than the Olive Branch & the Dove, the CND logo is the most instantly recognisable & most used peace sign on this Planet.
A vertical metal CND peace logo stands on a white painted concrete peace logo on the ground. There are metal plaques, signs, & benches, all laser cut with text proclaiming Peace. The whole art work is laid out in the shape of a giant CND Peace Logo, which is only apparent when viewed from the Air or Satellite.
The CND Peace Sign
"the anti-nuclear emblem or the peace sign is one of the most widely known symbols in the world. It was invented on the request of lord Bertrand Russel, head of the British 'campaign for nuclear disarmament' or CND and sponsor of mass marches and sit-downs in London. The symbol is a combination of the semaphore signals for the letters "N" and "D," standing for "nuclear disarmament". text Source: (
