Having moved to the Tinonee area in ~2006 I was keen to go and find this trig point (being only 3 km from home). Unsuccessfully tried to access from the South through a local dairy farmer's property. Then found that there is access from the Bootawa Dam. BUT, the times are limited, and you have to be sure to explain that you are asking for access to trig station.
There is a intercom button at the rolling security gate (right hand side), and you will be buzzed through to the office where you will explain what you are up to, and need to sign the 'Visitors Register'.
It is a little over a kilometre walk each way.
