"Haus der Natur" opened 2001 at the parking area of the gondola lift to Feldberg, the highest mountain in the Black Forest.
The house hosts the offices of the park administration of "Nature Park Southern Black Forest", and is also the main ranger station of the park.
The exhibition part explains local nature and how it is connected to the agricultural and economic history of the area. The museum is very interactive and well suited for children. One of the most popular stations is the ranger robot, who talks all day long about his duties without getting tired.
The entrance area with the pay desks is also the tourist information center of the area and a quite large gift shop.
Entrance to the permanent exhibition is 3 € (children 2 €), the temporary exhibition part is free. There are reduced combination tickets with the gondola ride to the mountain.
