Located on the south side of the Legislative Mall, this memorial pays tribute to Delaware's fallen police officers. The memorial contains 14.5 tons of black granite that was cut in India and etched and polished in Vermont. The center section features the Great Seal of the State of Delaware along with a shield and rose, mirroring the inscription in the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington, D.C. Two horizontal pieces include the names of 36 Delaware law enforcement officers who died on duty since 1863. At the center of the memorial is a bronze statue of an officer kneeling in grief. The monument was dedicated in 2010 - Delaware was the last state to dedicate an official state monument to fallen law enforcement officers.
