The FindAGrave record for Ambrose Calvert Doty indicates that this person was born in 1827 and died in 1917. There is something a little odd about this entry because the name Ambrose is usually that of a man, but the entry has a maiden name of Calvert. Perhaps it is the middle name, or this really was a woman named Ambrose? The marker is very hard to read at this point. In fact, it looked more like A. W. (or M.) Doty, rather than A. C., and the birth year is almost totally gone. So it is a good thing that someone took the time to find out what they could and record it in FindAGrave.
