North-Bohemian spa town Teplice, really rich for fountains, can be also called "city of fountains". Depicted fountain, the second in a small artifical pond called "Ledvinky" ("Kidneys"), is one of these interesting elements of the town's public space.
The unusual name of this fountain, with jet in ceramic blossom-shaped chalice, is derived from the shape of the pond divided by pedestrian bridge, resembling two "kidneys". The fountains in the pond are also called "Fountains at Beethoven", thanks to spa sanatorium Beethoven located couple meters from the park with "Ledvinky" pond. The ceramic fountain's chalice is work of local potter-artist Milan Zofka.
Teplice municipal fountains are in full operation daily (6:00-24:00) from April 15th to October 15th.
