[FR] L'oppidum devient castrum romain au milieu du Ier siècle av. J.-C. et reçoit son nom romain après avoir subi un incendie probablement après 52 av. J.-C., mais il perd de l'importance au détriment de Mediolanum Santonum (Saintes) qui devient alors la capitale romanisée de toute la région.

[EN] The celtic oppidum became a Roman fort in the middle of the 1st century BC and was given a Roman name after having burned, probably after 52 BC, but it lost importance as the town of Mediolanum Santonum (Saintes) became the romanized capital of the entire region.
