If steaks are what you crave the Cattle Exchange is where it is.
The mesquite grilled items of 1", 1 1/2" or 2" give you a choice of just how much rib eye you can handle.
If a filet mignon is what you crave, this well trimmed extra lean cut of certified premium beef is hand cut 1 1/2" thick.
The smoked beef tenderloin is the specialty of the house. We take beef tenderloin and rub it with a secret blend of coarse black pepper and spices then grill it over mesquite.
The Cattle Exchange has a variety of other mesquite grill items such as shrimp, chicken, and fresh fish and well as a one-pound pork chop.
We also offer a wide variety of fresh garden salads. If barbecue is on your mind, try any of our slow pit-smoked meats on a combination plate or try a sandwich for a smaller appetite.
The Cattle Exchange Mexican food is great too. We serve everything from Exchange Nachos (served with smoked brisket, beans, and cheese) to Smoked Beef Enchiladas. If you can't decide between a steak and Mexican food, try a Steak Ranchero. Our chile rellenos are also great!
"It seems only fitting that Julie and Milton Cooke should first meet at a BBQ place-in 1993 at his Uncle Bill Roden's place, Big Bubba's Famous BBQ in Cleburne, Texas. Even though Big Bubba's restaurant is no longer, the Cooke's have continued with some of the families recipes.
Whether its mouthwatering steaks cooked over an open mesquite burning fire or slow cooked juicy barbecue Cattle Exchange, is the place for you.
They have a menu that consists of steaks, bar-b-q, burgers, salads & Mexican food made fresh daily in the Cooke's kitchen. With clientele as diverse as their menu, the Cookes have been sighted serving mouth-watering entrees in locations ranging from oilfields to political fundraisers from Texas west to California.
The Cookes want you to feel like their family guests when eating with them, so please let them know what you think of the restaurant and staff. Your comments are well received and taken seriously, just as if you were a guest in their home."
