The building is about 250 years old, built of stone and cob on the right behind and below the New Inn part way down the street. It is owned by the Clovelly Estate Company, and All Saints is responsible for the upkeep.
"This small and intimate place of worship was opened in 1846 for those unable to walk all the way up the cobbles to the parish church. It was consecrated on 29th of November 1948 at the behest of the vicar at the time, the Rev A S Chandler."
(However in 1974 an old faded document was found with the 1st dedication in 1846 for those residents not able to climb the hill to attend the Parish Church) [http://www.clovellyparish.org.uk/church/]
"Inside there are colourful murals painted in the 1990s by North Devonartist Fiona Balfour.
You’ll find this peaceful chapel at the end of the path that runs alongside the Kingsley Museum."
