The Law Enforcement Center is immediately east of the old one, within a couple of feet of it, in fact. The old jail was completed in February of 1900, shortly after the county seat was moved to Anaconda.

The two centers, old and new, are just east of the Deer Lodge County Courthouse, a landmark in the city and a National Historic Place. The department is open 24 hours a day - 365 days a year. Responsible for the safety of the residents as well as enforcing laws and ordinances, the Law Enforcement Department has fifteen full-time officers and one part-time officer. The Detention Department has seven full-time officers and one part-time detention officer, while 911 Dispatch has ten dispatchers, both full-time and part-time. 911 Dispatch provides emergency and non-emergency dispatch and communications to City-County law enforcement, fire departments and EMS services.

The center's address:
800 South Main Street
Anaconda, MT 59711
Type: Main Office (HQ Building)

Visit Instructions:
To log a visit, you must post a photo of you in front of the building described, with your GPS in the photo. No drive by photos.

I have had NO problems with taking photos of Police stations but please respect the fact that some services may be nervous about having their photo taken and inquire as to why... I have found that once things are explained they are more than happy to let me photograph the building, crest, chief... (they are people too!)
