Early Gothic Church of St. Nicholas (Kostel Sv. Mikuláše), parish church of Benešov Roman Catholic parish, is one of the most valuable architectonic and historic monuments of town Benešov.
Originally early-gothic church from the 13th century is located in the Karlov, the oldest settlement of the town Benešov and it is the oldest surviving town' building. After war fires in 1420 and 1648 it was reconstructed in the Gothic and later in the Baroque style. Principal reconstruction was held in the end of the 19th century. St. Nicholas is thre-aisle basilical structure with polygonal chancel. Interior is mostly Baroque with preserved Gothic elements, the Baroque altar is decorated by valuable late Gothic Virgin Mary Assunta painting (ca 1480).
