This British post stamp issued in 2008 by UniversalMail, from series devoted to London' touristic attractions, depicts a new landmark of Thames riverbank - the London Eye Ferris wheel.
London Eye was opened on New Year's Eve 1999 as part of the millennial celebrations and became soon one of London's most popular attractions. London Eye has 32 gondolas for 800 people in a total, revolving on a huge Ferris wheel. One go-around takes 30 minutes. The London Eye is the 4th-tallest structure in London, so it offers really spectacular vistas over British metropolis...
The stamp was issued by UniversalMail United Kingdom Ltd., not by Royal Mail.
