Located in a new public wayside is a kiosk that is one of a number located along the Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway All American Road. This kiosk contains a map of the Scenic Byway as well as a couple of placards which highlight the Pelican Guard Station, constructed by Civilian Conservation Corps members in 1933. The Guard Station and Barn have been preserved and are located here for the public's enjoyment.
This Scenic Byway begins north of here at Crater Lake National Park (2nd deepest lake in North America) and ends at Lassen National Monument in northern California, south of here.
