There are 50 million years due to the formation of the Alps, the old massif rises again.
It breaks up the middle, stepped collapses to form the Rhine rift. On the western edges and appear the Vosges and the Black Forest. Erosion takes, strips the base and carved valleys thanks to the flaws, the sea invaded the Rhine Graben. Glaciers cover the Vosges durantplusieurs cooling phases. It carve valleys, refine the terrain. The ultimate ice age
dates back to 12,000 years. Many circuses and glacial lakes were witnesses, and small depressions. Lake of the Ball is a natural lake in the Alsatian side of the Vosges in Florival Valley and at the foot of the Grand Ballon in a circle of high mountains
